Police: Woman tried to pay for motel with fake cash

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A Memphis woman is behind bars after a hotel clerk says tried to pay for a room with counterfeit cash.

Police arrested Sandra Willis at Governor's Inn on Mt. Moriah.

The hotel clerk called the police to the scene and told them Willis gave her a $50 bill as payment for her hotel room, but she noticed it wasn't real.

Police found real cash on her and discovered the fake money had the same serial number.
