Anna Dewdney, author of the Llama Llama books, has died
CHESTER, Vt. — Beloved children’s author Anna Dewdney died September 3 at her Vermont home.
Dewdney is the author of multiple best-selling ‘Llama Llama’ books.
Her death at age 50 came after a 15-month battle with brain cancer.
Almost 10 million copies of here ‘Llama Llama’ books are in publication.
In lieu of a funeral service, she asked that people read to a child instead.
She was a huge proponent of children’s literacy and her books are said to be the most popular among those sent out by Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

According to Dewdney’s publisher Netflix is working on an animated series based on the ‘Llama Llama’ books.
