Woman shot while driving with young kids in car


MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman was shot while she was driving, and her boyfriend and two young children were also in the car when it happened.

The victim told police she was driving northbound on Airways Boulevard around 1 a.m. Monday when the suspect pulled up next to them and pointed and yelled at them. She said the suspects then shot at them, hitting the woman and the car.

The victim said she turned the car around and pulled into the Shell gas station at 2400 Airways Boulevard to get help.

Officers arrived at the scene and found her suffering from a gunshot wound and saw her car’s back window shot out.

The victim was transported to Regional Medical Center in noncritical condition.

The passengers, the victim’s boyfriend and her two daughters, a 3-year-old and an infant, were not injured, police said.
