Panic causes stampede at fair

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- There was panic at the Delta Fair Saturday night after as false claims of someone with a gun sent dozens of people scrambling for safety.

One girl told us, "I'm not really sure what happened but I have these two kids with me, and I just whipped them up in front of me you know? We ran into the ride. I was literally like shaking. I'm terrified."

Someone yelled out a person had a gun.

Others quickly spread the word that gunshots had been fired and dozens of people, some say up to 100, took off running for cover.

No one was taken into custody, and there is no evidence a gun was present or that a shot was fired.

This happened only hours after an accident on a ride sent several people to the hospital.
