MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Friday night, Tiger fans had mixed emotions about the recent news from ESPN that the University of Memphis won't be in the Big 12.
"Disappointed, not upset, not unbelievable," said fan Bill Williams.
"I'm shocked, I was shocked. Visibly, I'm still in shock," said another.
"I would like to have the Big 12 but we don't need them and we're gonna survive."
Whatever the feeling, those we talked to will proudly be wearing their stripes tomorrow.
Everyone we met had their own reason to be excited.
"Watching the Memphis Tigers win!"
"Hotdogs!! Hotdogs! We love the bands, the energy, we can't wait to see the new coach out there this week," said the Schallert family.
"Stadium looks outstanding. I'm looking forward to tomorrow to see what they've done this year," said Jimmy Shotwell.
Deputy Athletic Director Mark Alnutt gave us a look inside the stadium.
Fans can look forward to more than 5,000 new chair back seats, along with changes outside.
"We've been working with the city in terms of trying to improve the traffic flow coming into the games," Alnutt said.
Once you drive in you'll notice a difference too.
"We're moving our alumni tailgate and also our TSF and in flood tailgate into the Pipkin Building."
On Saturday those changes will be put to the test while the community cheers on their team.
"Go Tigers go!"
