Memphis man charged with prostituting teen
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man is in jail on charges of sex trafficking and statutory rape.
Lazaraeo Dixon is accused of prostituting a teenage girl.
He was arrested Wednesday after he and the 16-year-old were stopped for a traffic violation.
Police say Dixon put ads on the internet for the teen, paid for a hotel room, and made $800 from her prostituting.
Police say the girl lied about her age because she didn’t want to get Dixon in trouble.
Dixon is charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, statutory rape, human trafficking and sexual abuse of a minor.
