Man who opened fire on Memphis family charged
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is facing serious charges after authorities said he opened fire on a husband and wife while they were inside their home.
The incident reportedly happened in the 2600 block of McMurray on August 25.
The two were in the bedroom when someone started firing shots at their home.
Both victims hit the ground and crawled to safety.
The husband told authorities he was able to make his way to the front of the house where he saw Regis Jones exit a vehicle and begin shooting at his home and vehicles.
Jones was taken into custody several days later.
He denied having any involvement in the incident.
Jones was booked into the Shelby County Jail and charged with attempted second-degree murder.
