MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- An 18-year-old is behind bars, accused of attempting to murder his ex-girlfriend.
"He just shot me and he kept walking."
Ebony Parker just got out of the Regional Medical Center.
She said she saw her ex-boyfriend, Zamion Bailey, walking down the street.
"I had turned around and he start laughing so I pulled up to the side of him to unlock the door, and all I saw was his hand come down to the side with the gun and he shot."
The bullet is still lodged in Parker's face.
"How long has it's been since you dated him?"
"Two years ago," she replied. "I cant believe he shot me."
She put her car in gear and raced down Burns Street back home.
"She strong," said Parker's mother, Tracy Wright. "My baby drove herself home."
"She said 'Momma, Zamian shot me in my face.'"
Wright said one of her best friends buried her son over the weekend, and now she just came close to losing her own daughter.
"We need to sit our kids down. We need to talk to our children. He almost took my baby's life," she said.
Parker is on the road to recovery.
She's waiting to go back to the hospital for surgery to remove the bullet.
Bailey was charged with aggravated assault and attempted first-degree murder.
His bond was set at $100,000.
