MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A power outage affected mainly the downtown Memphis area.

Most customers have had their power restored, according to MLGW.

According to their outage map, more than 1,400 customer accounts were out. An account could affect one or more people.

poleA power pole was hit, and lines are down at Front and Butler.

One person who lives near there said he the pole fell and he heard “continuous electrical explosions.”

We lost power at WREG around 11:45 a.m. and had to run on generator.
