Police investigate shooting at Family Dollar on Getwell Road

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A person has been shot at the Family Dollar store on Getwell Road.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. Saturday as part of a business robbery, police said.

The suspect entered the store and demanded money from the register, police said. He then fired several shots, which hit the clerk.

The victim was transported to Regional Medical Center in noncritical condition.

No arrests have been made.

Police described the suspect as a 5-foot-6-inch black man in his mid- to late 20s with a medium build. He was wearing a black mask, a black shirt, black pants and tennis shoes.
