Josh Pastner, Tigers coach:

“This was a good, hard-fought game. I felt that our guys battled and played the right way. All you can ask for is a chance to win the game at the last media timeout. We had some chances. We didn’t take advantage of the chances, whether it was a free throw or a lay-up, or some open three’s. I loved how we played. I love this team. I’m excited for this team. I just think we can continue to get better the more we have game experience – the more that we get on the floor, especially for those young guys, but even the veterans who are all gelling together. Like I’ve said, I really believe Tiger Nation is going to fall in love with this team based on how hard they played – playing the right way – playing with a scrappy mentality night in and night out, and playing unselfish. There are a lot of positives to take, and I’m proud of out young men. We have a quick turnaround, and I told our guys that they need to stay emotionally balanced. I told them before the game that the season is a journey, and we can’t get too high or too low, and be ready to play on Thursday.”

Dedric Lawson, Tigers forward:

“I treat every game like it’s high school. Some of these are guys I played against in high school and I look at every team the same. I just go out and be a competitor and help my team to win. And help my team win the best way I can on my part.  When you have four fouls, you can’t be that much aggressive. You can’t be active on block shots. Buddy Hield would drive it. And I had to just let him get it. I didn’t want to pick up that fifth foul. That’s how they got a lot of those open shots.”

Lon Kruger, Oklahoma coach:

“Dedric is fantastic and he is so long. We had a hard time in the first half keeping him off the board. We did a little better of keeping him off the boards because of his length.  I thought it could not have gone better especially coming away with a win. We beat a good team and a good crowd was good for our team. We saw a lot of zone late that was good for us and seen their length that was also good for us. I really like Josh’s team. They are really good team and they are young in some ways and experience in another away. The combination and I thought they played well.”
