MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person was injured after a fight broke out on a MATA bus Tuesday night.

According to police, the driver of the MATA bus picked up a group in front of Northwest Prep Academy.

On their way to the North main terminal, the juveniles began arguing and cursing at each other.

The driver told them to stop, or she would kick them off the bus.

The bus then had mechanical troubles at the intersection of Second and Poplar and was forced to pull over.

When the driver came back on the bus to continue the route, she saw a man being hit and kicked by three suspects.

Another person on the bus told police when the driver got off, the lights went out.

That’s when he heard the suspects fighting.

He told police when the lights came back on, the 28-year-old man was being assaulted by the three juveniles.

One of the suspects was heard saying, “I put that on Crip.”

The juveniles fled before police could arrive.

The victim was taken to Methodist Hospital with no serious injuries.
