HORN LAKE, Miss. -- Ahead of possible severe weather, WREG spent time Tuesday driving around areas that have experienced flooding.

Residents at Sutton Place Apartments in Horn Lake said there are some sand bags near a creek behind the property. They've been in place since a previous flooding incident over the summer.

"I pretty much would have to carry him like this if it's flooded over here," said James Balentine, holding his four-year-old son.

Balentine was helping his father-in-law with his car Tuesday afternoon, ahead of the storm. He said when the water rises at the complex, it can almost get as tall as his young son.

"Really, it just floods a lot, and usually we try to park on higher ground. Some people go around to the office area, where it's a little higher," said Sutton Place resident Larry Snowden.

Both men said they planned to move their cars.

Despite the flooding, Snowden said he was pleased with the complex.
