One that I have learned from my husband is that when it comes to home repairs, you do not pay the total amount due before of the work has been done. A few years ago we had to get a new roof. A friend of ours recommended the person that had done his roof. My husband negotiated the cost. We did not pay a dime up front. When the job was done we paid him. Also we had some new flooring done. The flooring company wanted half of the money up front. So we didn’t have a problem with that. Because contractors have to protect themselves also. If you need to have some work done, please be very careful because there are people out there will take money that is not earned.
