Holly Springs police arrest man for shooting

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. — Holly Springs police arrested a man they say shot a 42-year-old man twice Wednesday.

Jerald Jennings, 34, was taken into custody without incident. He is charged with aggravated assault and Felon in Possession of a Weapon.

Officers responded to Memphis and West Valley streets at about 5:25 p.m., and the man’s wife told them her husband had been taken to the hospital in a car.

Torrice Hampton, 42, was stabilized and then airlifted to Regional Medical Center. His condition was critical, and is now listed as stable.
