MEMPHIS, Tenn. --  On this day 40 years ago, President Richard Nixon left the White House.

With the Watergate scandal escalating, the second-term Republican president had lost much of his political backing, and he faced almost certain impeachment and the prospects of being removed from office by a Democratic-dominated House and Senate.

In his new book "The Nixon Defense,"  Nixon's former legal counsel, John Dean, reveals what he says really happened with Watergate and how the scandal still affects politics today.

They’re still at it today, except these days everyone is a terrorist instead of a communist. The scare has changed, the tactics are the same.

This is not news. WREG needs to report news and not push old worn out snakes (lawyers) books he is attempting to sell. I remember all this stuff.
We need to watch a little closer about the people who are betraying America today.

YES. We need to keep a close watch on the Tea Party hate-riots, who are the direct descendants of the “Christian”, “patriotic”, racist “America, love it or leave it” crowd during Vietnam.

They still slither among us. The right wing in America is the greatest threat to America’s well-being today.
Thank goodness they are mostly confined to fly-over states. And thank goodness that more Americans are getting wise to their traitorous ways.
