MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A woman is homeless after she says her angry ex-boyfriend set her house on fire in Frayser.

Michelle Gordon worked hard to take care of her little home on Argonne Street, but Monday night she got a call that it and everything she owned was going up in flames.

"It was smoking and smoking, and there were seven to eight fire trucks out here," she told WREG.

Police said Gordon's ex-boyfriend, Guy Pratcher, is to blame.

Authorities said he wanted to come pick up some items he left at Gordon's home, but she wasn't there. They say he came back later and kicked in her door.

"He was mad, because I told him I didn't want to deal with him any more," Gordon said.

Police said after breaking in, Pratcher went room to room setting fires, so almost the entire house was torched.

Gordon said Pratcher made threats before, but she never thought it would escalate to this.

"He used to say it, but I just didn't believe him," she said. "I thought he was just talking."

Police arrested Pratcher and charged him with aggravated burglary and arson. His bond is set at $50,000.

While replacing her things won't be easy, Gordon said she's just thankful to still have her life.
