Two new cases of West Nile Virus found in Mississippi

JACKSON, Miss. — Two new cases of the West Nile Virus have been reported in Adarns and Rakin Counties in Mississippi.

This year, five cases of the virus have been reported in Mississippi.

In 2013 Mississippi had 45 West Nile Virus cases and five deaths.

The Mississippi State Department of Health suggest mosquito wearing repellent that contains DEET while outdoors, removing all sources of standing water around the home, and to wear loose, light colored, long clothing to cover arms and legs when outdoors.
