Update: Teenage girl killed, Bartlett High student hurt in crash

BARTLETT, Tenn. — A teenage girl who used to live in the Mid-South died in a crash Monday.

The wreck happened at about 4:40 p.m. at Yale and Memphis-Arlington.

Investigators say the driver of a Lincoln Town Car failed to yield the right-of-way to the Ford F-150 in which the two teens were riding.

The crash caused the truck to cross over the median into oncoming traffic, where it hit a third car before rolling onto its passenger side.

No charges have been filed at this time and the crash is still under investigation.

Briana J. Jones attended Cordova High School before her family moved to Houston, Texas.

She was visiting her boyfriend, who was driving the truck and is a student at Bartlett High School.

Grief counselors will be at Cordova High School today.
