MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Sunday morning, jurors decided that Maurice Brown was found guilty of murdering of his 3-year-old son in 2012.
Prosecutors decided not to seek the death penalty in this case.
Brown took the stand in his own defense Saturday morning to convince the jury he didn’t murder his son and that he just “messed up.”
He also admitted to lying to detectives and reporters about what happened to his son.
Saturday evening, Judge Chris Craft decided to let the jury go home, get some rest, and return to court for deliberations the next morning.
