Stalled FedEx truck could explode if contents overheat

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Emergency crews in Texas had to keep a FedEx truck from exploding Friday evening.

The truck was said to be transporting a chemical that can explode if it overheats.

It was stalled on Highway 59 in Cleveland, Texas.

FedEx released the following statement:

We can confirm that a FedEx Custom Critical vehicle carrying a hazardous material is involved in an incident on Highway 59 in Cleveland, Texas. We are working with the authorities on site to assess the situation and will continue cooperating with them to resolve the issue.
