MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Cordova woman is in the hospital after the car she was driving crashed into an apartment building late Monday.

The accident happened just before 10 p.m. at the Appling Lakes at Cordova Club Apartments on Appling Road near Cordova Road.

Shelby County firefighters say the car somehow left the parking lot, drove over a lawn and ended up inside an apartment.

One person inside the apartment was hit, but we’re told they only suffered some cuts and bruises.

The driver of the car was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

interesting…she leaves tons of damages injures someone asks if she can just drive the car away instead of it being towed. The deputies just talk and pat each other. What most people don’t know is she has family on the force. So, the million dollar question is. Does she have legit renters insurance to cover the insurance to cover the damage to all the other people property in the apartments? She didn’t even ask how the woman was that her car hit. WOW! I hope the TBI pulls that black box from her car. BTW the tow truck driver said her brakes were working…” overheard”. My guess she was flying…not a pilot.lol
