MEMPHIS, Tenn–The Memphis Grizzlies wanted a second round pick in the 2014 NBA draft and got one when the Utah Jazz agreed to be a trade partner with them.

That was good news for Tennessee forward Jarnell Stokes, who was drafted by Utah with the 35th overall pick and then sent to Memphis for a 2016 second round pick.

Stokes, who went to Central and Southwind High schools in Memphis, left Tennessee after his junior season in which he was a rebounding machine.

Stokes had one workout with the Grizzlies and now gets to fulfill a dream of playing NBA basketball in his hometown.
