School board members talk about renewing Hopson’s contract

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- This week, the Shelby County School Board voted unanimously to extend Superintendent Dorsey Hopson’s contract, even though he's still in his first year of a three year contract.

The new deal keeps Hopson in the position until 2018.

It was a decision not without controversy.

Board chair Kevin Woods and vice-chair Chris Caldwell joined us to talk about the decision.
