ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The St. Louis Cardinals have placed starting pitchers Jaime Garcia (left shoulder discomfort) and Michael Wacha (right shoulder stress-reaction) on this disabled list and called up Memphis Redbirds shortstop Pete Kozma and right-hander Eric Fornataro.

Fornataro has a 0.87 ERA and three saves in eight games during June.   Kozma or Fornataro will likely to be sent back down to the Triple-A Redbirds on Wednesday so the Cardinals can activate Double-A lefty Marco Gonzales, who will make his big league debut on that day with a start in Colorado where he’s from.
