Several families displaced by apartment fire

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Seven families are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross after an overnight apartment fire in Binghampton.

The fire broke out at the corner of Tillman and Princeton around 3 a.m. Monday.

Eight units in the two story building were damaged by fire, smoke and water.

There was no working smoke detector at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire was a faulty electrical outlet.

There were no injuries reported.
