MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police said clothes, jewelry, and electronics were not enough for a burglar in East Memphis.

Eric Brown is locked up on aggravated burglary and theft of property charges after police say he also stole a woman’s dog.

According to the police report, Brown took off with more than $5,000 worth of stuff.

Workers packed in bricks for a security gate at the Eden at Watersedge apartments, but residents said the gate is being built a week too late.

Police said Eric Brown broke into two apartments in two days.

A woman who lives next door to one of the victims said her neighbor was visibly upset.

The police report revealed Brown stole electronics and jewelry from the female victim last Thursday.

Police said Brown also yanked a Yorkie, an expensive dog breed, from the home.

According to the report, Brown kicked in a second door in the same complex taking electronics, clothes, money, and a weapon.

Police caught up to Brown wearing the same shirt, they say, he took from the apartment complex.

Detectives recovered a stolen ring, but the Yorkie puppy still has not been found.

Brown was in court Friday morning.
