Thunderstorm passes through the Mid-South

SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. --  For the second time in as many days, a strong thunderstorm went through the Mid-South.

Nearly 11,000 MLGW customers were without power as of 5:05 p.m. Call 901-544-6500 to report an outage.

Lightning flashed through the sky Friday, and Thursday's storm caused significant damage across the area.

In Frayser Thursday, a pregnant woman was hurt and trapped in a room with three children when a tree crashed through the roof.

Power lines and trees snapped, and thousands lost power.

Play at the FedEx St. Jude Classic was suspended both days.
