Second West Nile Virus human case identified in Mississippi

HINDS COUNTY, Miss. — The Mississippi State Department of Health confirms a second case of human West Nile Virus case this year.

The confirmed case is located in Newton County.

Health officials will not release any information about the person affected.

In 2013, Mississippi had 45 West Nile Virus cases and five deaths.

    Fear, fear and more fear. Far more people get this virus every year and never know it. These stories and stats make it appear far more dangerous than it is. People need to be more concerned about the widespread damage being done with spraying.
