EIGER, Switzerland — You’ve likely seen human BASE jumpers but what about a dog?
Well known climber Dean Potter says his dog, Whisper, is the first BASE-jumping dog.
BASE jumpers use a parachute to jump from a fixed location like a building or bridge.
Potter is a self-described rock climber, walker and “human-body-flyer.”
He puts Whisper, a 22-pound Australian Cattledog, in a little backpack when he BASE jumps in his wingsuit off mountains.
WTKR reported Potter shot this video jumping with Miss Whisper from the 13,000-foot Eiger in Switzerland.
Not everyone thinks the video is cute. There are many posts on the YouTube video of the jumps with people worried about the dog’s safety.
Potter says Whisper is secured by a harness that’s as strong as those designed for humans.
