Shelby County family escapes burning home

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A family of three is homeless after an overnight house fire in southeast Shelby County.

Just after 1 a.m. Tuesday, firefighters from Memphis and Shelby County responded to the 6600 block of Lake Valley Drive near Ross Road.

A man, woman and their daughter were inside the house when the fire started, but firefighters say they were able to get out safely.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
