Memphis, TN-It appears it’s just a matter of time, days really, before Grizzlies coach Dave Joerger returns home to the Minneapolis area to become the Timberwolves new head coach.  Joerger is in Minneapolis.  He met with T’ Wolves president Flip Saunders on Thursday.  Joerger and Saunders have had a tight relationship for many years.

This weekend Joerger will visit with T’Wolves owner Glen Taylor.  All signs point to Joerger getting a quick offer if Taylor likes him.  Then Memphis and Minnesota would have to settle on compensation because Joerger is still under contract with the Grizzlies for two more years.

The NBA only allows teams to exchange draft picks or cash for a coach.  Minnesota is aware Grizzlies owner Robert Pera wants a new coach and won’t be pressured into giving up too much.  The T’Wolves have three second round picks in next month’s draft and may offer one of those to the Grizzlies.
