(Detroit, MI) A week after recalling 2.4 million vehicles and a day after recalling another 2.6 million, General Motors Co is recalling an additional 218,000 Chevrolet small cars for a potential fire hazard.
GM has been criticized by safety advocates and fined by U.S. safety regulators for its delayed response in catching the faulty switch.
Today’s recall involves 218,000 Chevrolet Aveo cars in the United States from model years 2004 to 2008.
The concern is a part in the daytime running lights which could overheat and cause a fire.
GM officials did not have an immediate comment.
This year alone, GM has recalled 15.6 million vehicles worldwide.
