(Memphis) A Memphis man has been charged with Arson after setting his home on fire.
Two dead dogs were found inside and outside the home.
The fire started around 4:15 a.m. at a house in the 6900 block of Showboat Lane.
Homeowner David Galloway, who appeared drunk and had a gun when firefighters arrived, was questioned after the fire was extinguished.
Galloway said he was depressed, had been drinking all night, and poured gasoline inside the home and set it on fire.
An affidavit said a dead dog was found in the back yard and one inside the home.
Galloway told investigators the dog outside died a few days ago and he planned to bury it.
He told police the dog inside the house bit his hand so he shot and killed it.
Galloway, who frequently tweets Memphis media outlets, posted several pictures of bites he said were done by that dog Monday.
There is no word on whether Galloway faces any charges for shooting and killing the dog.
