(Memphis) A 2-year-old child was pulled from a pool around 5:25 Thursday evening.

Emergency crews were told the child was in distress in the water.

The mother of the 2-year-old said they were cleaning up and when they turned around the girl was on the bottom of the pool.

A family member pulled the girl from the water and performed CPR.

The child’s parents said the girl seemed to be fine and was running around, but then started breathing in an odd manner.

Because the situation was deemed non-emergency, the family was told they could wait 40 minutes for an ambulance or take the girl to Le Bonheur in a private vehicle.

The family chose to take her themselves but at last report they were still at their home.
