(Memphis) A 14-year-old girl was shot in the leg after someone fired nearly two dozen shots into her Whitehaven home.

It happened late last night in the 5100 block of Haleville.

Police aren't saying what led up to the shooting and are still looking for the people responsible.

Neighbors said they were tired of the violence.

"This is the third time," said Boyd.

Isiah Boyd said it was the third shooting on the street in about two years.

He showed us an old bullet hole in his mother's carport.

"My momma's house was shot. Her car was shot up right there. I had a four-door Dodge Dakota that was shot up. It's getting old," said Boyd.

Boyd said it's a symptom of a bigger problem in the city that no one seems to want to do anything about.

"It's ridiculous, you know and we have a church on every corner, we have all these associations, but people don't get it. These fools don't mind dying," said Boyd.

In fact, he said there seems to be little regard for human life anymore and that has to stop.

Police say they are looking for a gold Grand Marquis in connection to this shooting.
