(Memphis) A guilty verdict in the case of a Memphis man charged with shooting a killing a 19-year-old male at an apartment complex.
Robert Townsend, 33, has been convicted of first-degree murder in the 2012 shooting death of Markeith Bohanon.
The shooting happened at the Eastwood Park Apartments on Getwell Road near Knight Arnold.
Prosecutors said Townsend had two prior violent felony convictions and was sentenced to life in prison without parole under the state’s three-strikes law.
Witnesses said Townsend chased Bohanon through the complex and shot him, “in the back with a snub-nosed revolver following a dispute over Townsend’s girlfriend.”
Townsend was captured several weeks later in Daytona Beach, Florida.
