(Memphis) One of four people police say robbed and shot a popular North Memphis barber last weekend is now behind bars.

Police have charged Dandre Burton with attempted first-degree murder and especially aggravated robbery.

Brandon Mayhue operates a barbershop out of his house in the 1500 block of Carpenter.

Police say Burton and three others showed up there last Saturday and said they wanted haircuts, but instead robbed Mayhue at gunpoint.

After Mayhue threw some money at them and ran away, someone shot him in the back.

Police haven't said who pulled the trigger, but a neighbor says Burton was the one who came out of the house with a gun.

"After my friend got shot, I saw him at the end of the driveway pointing a pistol at Brandon again," said Terrance Thornton.

Thornton say Mayhue ran to his house for help and he wrapped him up in a sheet to stop the bleeding.

He says Mayhue was able to identify Burton.

In fact, he says all of the men had been to Mayhue's house before.

"He cut their hair before. Yes, he cut their hair before. That's what I don't understand," said Thornton.

Mayhue is recovering in the hospital.

Burton is being held on $500,000 bond.
