(WREG-TV) In 1974, Frances Kelley was the first women to co-host a television talk show in the MidSouth area.
She sat along side Olin Morris, general manager at that time of WREG-TV, to co host Good Morning from Memphis.
Frances is celebrating her 80th birthday and came back to visit so we decided to surprise her with a reunion with Olin.
Many people remember the live interview Frances did with then KKK grand wizard David Duke when she asked him, "Honey, why do you hate me?"
After leaving television, Frances went on to be an evangelist and has become very well-known in the field.
A birthday celebration is being held for Frances Kelley Monday at Pentecostal Temple COGIC located at 229 S. Danny Thomas.
Events begin at 6:30 p.m.

The prime directive of these two individuals was to report and present factual and relevant information to the City of Memphis. No dog and pony, no smoke and mirrors, no entertainment tonight style news. Total professionals for this market.
They found a way to give even the smallest of people a venue to present what they had to offer.
Sadly lacking today.
God bless you Mr. Morris and Ms. Kelley. You are very much missed.
