Storms Cause Power Outages

(WREG-TV) Severe storms with winds in excess of 60 miles per hour caused numerous power outages early Friday morning.

MLGW reported 3400 addresses without power at 4 a.m.

That was down to just under 300 at 8:30 a.m.

The hardest hit area is from Olive Branch, MS and north into Shelby County.

Entergy reported more than 1,000 customers without power at the height of the storms.

Strong storms moved through early Friday morning prompting tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings.

Tim Simpson and Todd Demers were live on air and on-line for several hours tracking those storms.
