Man Dies From Injuries In After Last Friday’s Storms

(Coahoma County, MS) A man has died his home was blown away in a storm April 4.

Johnny Hess died at the Regional Medical Center.

After the storm, Hess was able to get to get help.

“When he woke up, Johnny crawled to a tractor got on a tractor and went for help,” said friend Mike Watts.

With several broken ribs and deep cuts, he drove a heavy-duty farm tractor in rough weather conditions to safety.

Hess’s mobile home was blown away during a severe thunderstorm with strong winds.

Little is recognizable except a few belongings and a bed on a nearly cleared foundation.

Hess’ friends combed through the rubble, grabbing whatever they could to help him start over.

“How does a person survive this? It’s a miracle,” expressed Watts.
