Man Sentenced For Sexually Assaulting Girlfriend’s Daughter

(Memphis) A Memphis man has been sentenced for sexually assaulting his girlfriend’s daughter multiple times over five years.

Eliot Russell was convicted of attempted rape of a child and aggravated sexual battery.

The girl told jurors Russell started sexually assaulting her when she was 9 years old, and continued until she told her mother in 2012.

Russell was sentenced to 12 years for attempted rape of a child and 12 years for aggravated sexual battery.

The sentences are to run consecutively.

Russell will have to serve more than 15 years before he can be considered for parole.

The sentence for aggravated sexual battery must be served without parole.
