(Reading, MA) Firefighters in Reading, Massachusetts put their vocal skills to work to comfort a little girl who was stuck in an elevator with her baby brother and her mother.

The family was headed to get 4-year-old Kaelyn Kerr’s hair cut when the door to the elevator jammed.

WFXT-TV described the  elevator as more of a chairlift in a 4×4 space with an open top.

To get out, the Kerr’s needed to climb up a ladder and over the wall.

“When they put the ladder down that’s when she kind of started freaking out a little bit,” said Kristin as she described her daughter’s fear during the rescue.

Firefighter John Keough was trying to calm Kaelyn when she found out she is a fan of the Disney movie Frozen.

WFXT-TV reports fellow firefighter Scott Myette pulled out his iPhone and began playing the theme song to the movie then they all started sing the song “Let It Go”  to the girl.

“It worked,” said Keough. “We got her to a point where she was comfortable with us and up the ladder we went, right up and over, no problem.”

Both firefighters are dads of young children.
