(WREG-TV) GPAC is welcoming jazz guitarist Russell Malone to the Duncan-Williams Performance Hall Saturday, March 22, 2014.

This special performance is part of the Master Jazz Guitar Series, a partnership between GPAC, The Mike Curb Institute for Music at Rhodes College and Sharon and Lee Grinspan.

Malone’s performance is the fifth in the annual series which brings the finest jazz guitarists to Memphis to work with students as well as perform for the general public.

The clinic will be hosted at Rhodes College through the Curb Institute, whose mission is to foster understanding and awareness of the distinct musical traditions of the south, and to give local students access to top level performers and educators.

The clinic at Rhodes will be followed by a performance on GPAC’s main stage. Previous guitarists in the series have included Pat Marino and Bucky Pizzarelli.
