(Memphis)  A South Memphis woman is homeless after her home went up in flames early Thursday morning.

The fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Mississippi Blvd. south of Crump Blvd.

Flames were shooting from the roof of the two-story home when firefighters arrived.

At one point, the flames were so intense that firefighters were ordered out of the house because commanders were afraid it would collapse.

Firefighters say the woman who lived in the home was asleep when the fire broke out. She safely escaped after neighbors came over and woke her up.

There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
