Federal Judge Orders TN To Recognize Three Same Sex Marriages For Now

(Nashville, TN) The State of Tennessee has been ordered by a Federal judge to recognize the out-of-state marriages of three same-sex couples while consideration of their lawsuit challenging Tennessee’s constitutional amendment banning their recognition.

Currently 29 states have constitutional amendments restricting marriage to one man and one woman.

Same-sex couples can legally marry in 17 states and Washington, DC.
