Brooklyn, NY-Former Arkansas star Joe Johnson scored 21 points and Marcus Thornton added 20 off the bench to lead the Brooklyn Nets to a 103-94 win over the Grizzlies on Wednesday.
The matchup was between two of the hotter teams in the NBA, but the Nets easily won their sixth straight home game. The Nets led by 30 before letting Memphis get it down to single digits late.
Jon Leuer led the Grizzlies with 19 points and Marc Gasol added 18, but Memphis had to play without former all-star center Zach Randolph, who missed the game with flu-like symptoms. Grizzlies guard Mike Conley went 0-8 from the floor and finished with only two points and six turnovers.
The Grizzlies also missed out on a chance to tie Phoenix for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
