James Meredith was the first African American student at the University of Mississippi in 1962.

Four years later, he planned a march through Mississippi, a "March Against Fear" but was again met with violent resistance.

Aram Goudsouzian reveals this lesser known story in Civil Rights history in his new book "Down to the Crossroads".
