(Memphis) Memphis Police and several other agencies are looking for a robbery suspect they say pointed a gun at a Memphis Police Officer.

Public Information Officer, Sgt. Karen Rudolph tells WREG there was a robbery in the 1200 block of E. Shelby Drive. The suspect’s vehicle was spotted on Shelby Dr. near Faronia.

An MPD officer initiated a traffic stop. That’s when the suspect pointed a gun at the officer. The officer fired shots but it’s not sure if anyone was hit.

The suspect fled the scene in a dark blue Nissan Maxima.

DeSoto County Sheriff’s Spokesman Dick Hackett also confirms that deputies are assisting MPD with this investigation and are searching throughout DeSoto County for the vehicle.
