Woman Arrested In Daycare Robbery Says It’s A Big Misunderstanding
(Memphis) A woman police tied to an armed robbery at a South Memphis Daycare says it’s all just one big misunderstanding.
Adrienne Coleman, who has been charged with being an accessory after the fact, says she had nothing to do with the robbery and can’t understand why she’s facing any charges.
Police say on December 20th Lavelle Woodall held up the owner of LeSuer Learning Center on Gleason and took an envelope containing $10,000 in cash and $3,000 in payroll checks.
Coleman was arrested nearly three weeks later after police say she cashed one of those stolen checks.
“They told me the check numbers on the check were reported stolen and by me attempting to cash the check they think I had something to do with the aggravated robbery and that’s not the case.” said Coleman.
Coleman who is an employee at LeSuer doesn’t deny cashing the check.
She says it was her paycheck and came right from her boss and the owner of the daycare.
“I was like that is my paycheck. I work for her. She may have mixed up the numbers,” said Coleman.
She says she doesn’t even know Lavelle Woodall and has never seen him before in her life.
“I was employed by this lady for two and a half years and she’s putting these false charges on me when she know she game me that check. That’s my payroll check,” said Coleman.
Our calls to LeSuer Learning Center Friday were not returned.
Woodall has been charged with aggravated robbery.
